There are multiple stories of how the dog came to be at the cemetery from avoiding being melted down for bullets during the Civil War to keeping the Bernadine Reese (2 year old Scarlett Fever victim) company in death. In the end, the dog has become more popular than the grave it is next to and is now a tourist attraction of Hollywood Cemetery.
