UMass - shorthand for The University of Massachusetts - appears three times on the playing field of McGuirk Alumni Stadium in Amherst, Massachusetts. Maroon text outlined in white, gray, and black is centered in each end zone with letters ranging from five to eight yards tall. A logo version of the same color scheme fills up the midfield with "Mass" overlaying a much larger "U". The field is oriented north/south and the midfield logo faces west to be readable from the Home side of the stands.
You may be able to walk right up to the words if there's no game taking place. Otherwise, head to the top row of bleachers beneath the press box for a great view of the field -- and the Minuteman Marching Band performances!
