PJ's was established in New Orleans in 1978, and today, they are somewhere between being a regional and a national chain, concentrated mostly in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, with nearly eighty locations across fourteen states and still growing. They roast their own beans and are proud that the finished product is considerably less acidic than some of the rest. One can purchase their coffee by the pound or in single-serve cups, and besides their regular offerings, some flavored (including chicory), some not, keep your eye out for selections to match the current season. During Mardi Gras, for example, they've got a few King Cake drinks, but bring your sweet tooth with you!

They offer a variety of hot and cold coffee beverages, as well as tea and tea-based drinks -- a copy of the menu is in the gallery - and you can get a few types of breakfast and lunch sandwiches and fresh pastries all day. This location doesn't have beignets, unfortunately, but we politely bother them about that. Some day.

There's a good amount of space here, with bar stools and a booth up front, some comfy chairs, and three tables. If you're looking to plug in, there are outlets up front, and each table has an outlet at eye level. If the wi-fi credentials aren't on display at the counter, just ask one of the staff. They're very helpful and very friendly. Signal strength is pretty good.

They also have a drive thru if you're short on time.
