I went to Hoogerheide to get some fried fish and to score some waymarks. The fishmonger told me about this statue; the Contente Mens (satisfied man). It has been placed on the point of an apartment building by the project developer. It symbolises the mood of the developer after a job well done. According to BN de Stem, the project developer was Bernard de Nijs.
The statue is made out of bronze. It is a man with a cane, looking down on the village square.
