The 8th Pennsylvania Regiment or Mackay's Battalion was an American infantry unit that became part of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War; unit was assigned to General George Washington's main army on 23 November 1776.

In 1780, he was assigned to the 4th Battalion under Capt. Andrew Reed at Marlborough Township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania."
