On the front door of this house at Prinsenstraat 40 in Aalten is an antique door knocker in the shape of a lion's head. The house looks like an ordinary house and it is nowadays. It used to be different, then it was a prison. The information board next to the door states that from 1861 to 1886 there was a prison with 6 cells. In 1987 the building was restored and converted into a house.
