St. James Episcopal Church is just south of the courthouse square in Texarkana, Texas. It is just barely in Texas; a block east is State Line Road and the border with Arkansas. The congregation was first organized in 1877 and this fine church constructed shortly thereafter. A historical marker at the church provides a few details. This fine copper-clad steeple is part of the original church building.
