This silhouette sculpture is of a single rower holding an oar on a pedestal with "Berlin 1936" and the Olympic rings. A nearby group of men based out of the University of Washington won the gold medal narrowly beating Italy and Germany respectively. There is even a book based on their story by the name of "The Boys in the Boat."
