U.S. 70 was, pre-freeway, a major arterial road across the southwest. Through eastern Arizona it served the mines and ranches between the New Mexico border and the city of Globe. Times, and traffic patterns, have changed and the days of roadside gas stations are over. This station was once the last stop heading west toward Globe where the highway crossed the San Carlos reservation. It is at the intersection of Geronimo Ln and Highway 70. Fallen trees obscure the back of the building. A canopy still extends over the pump island but the pumps are gone. On the east side are restroom doors. There are no garage doors so this was probably just a gas station, not a service station. There is no evidence of a brand.
