"Dat in Amsterdam de grote letters op het Museumplein werden weggehaald zette Martin en Wesley Hüning uit Aalten aan het denken. Zo’n blikvanger was ook wel wat voor ’t Noorden. Op een walletje terzijde van hun parkeerterrein prijkt nu in grote letters ‘I (love) achterhoek’.

Dit voorjaar (2019) plaatsten zij de anderhalve meter grote letters op een stuk grond achter het paardenweitje dat aan hun parkeerplaats aan de Lichtenvoordsestraatweg grenst. Het is de rand van een voormalige vuilnisbelt, onlangs aangepakt en schoongemaakt. ,,Het is gemeentegrond”, weet Martin Hüning. ,,Die vinden het prachtig.”

De liefdesverklaring van Hüning aan zijn eigen streek past goed in het groeiende belang van recreatie en toerisme, vindt hij. ,,Ik zit in het bestuur van het Achterhoeks Bureau voor Toerisme, ik wil niet alleen Aalten, maar de hele Achterhoek uit dragen."

"The fact that the large letters on the Museumplein were removed in Amsterdam made Martin and Wesley Hüning from Aalten think. Such an eye-catcher was also something for 't Noorden. On a wallet next to their parking lot now stands in large letters 'I (love) Achterhoek'.

This spring (2019) they placed the one and a half meter large letters on a piece of land behind the horse meadow that borders their parking lot on the Lichtenvoordsestraatweg. It is the edge of a former rubbish dump, recently tackled and cleaned. “It's municipal land,” says Martin Hüning. “They think it's wonderful.”

Hüning's declaration of love for his own region fits in well with the growing importance of recreation and tourism, he believes. "I'm on the board of the Achterhoeks Bureau for Tourism, I don't just want to promote Aalten, but the entire Achterhoek."
