A memorial bust of Humphrie Hutchins in an oval niche. He had rebuilt part of this church (north aisle) in 1628. Only the forms of his east window in the north aisle survive, as the church was entirely rebuilt in 1877.

The inscription below the bust reads -

THIS PARTE OF THE CHVRch
WAS NEV BUILTE IN THE
YERE OF Or LORD 1628
BY THE BENEVOLENCE
OF HVMPHRIE HVTCHINS
OF THIS PARISH

According to a local story, Humphrey Hutchins was ploughing land at the top of the hill when his plough turned up a crock of gold. He gave part of his miraculous treasure to the church to rebuild the north aisle. The field where Hutchins discovered his gold is still known as Money Acre.
