From it, you can partially see the line of peaks in the western area of the Sierra Nevada massif, highlighting the Mulhacén at 3,482 metres, which is the highest peak on the peninsula.
Next to the viewpoint passes the Camino de los Neveros, a traditional route of the snowfields, men from the towns of the area who, during the summer months, ascended to the peaks of Sierra Nevada to extract snow that they later distributed and sold as a refreshing and therapeutic product . They took advantage of the night to make their way back to the city of Granada and thus avoid the rigours of the daytime heat.
From the viewpoint, you can also see the Depression of Granada, occupied millions of years ago by shallow sea. In the vicinity of the city, there are traces of this stage made up of remains of coral reefs, in the area of the municipality of Monachil.
Finally, closing the panoramic view, you can see the Canales reservoir that collects the waters of the Genil river and supplies a part of Granada, and the municipality of Güéjar Sierra that contributes the largest territorial surface to the Park, covering the entire Genil river valley, from its headland crowned by Veleta, Mulhacén and Alcazaba to the skirt of the mountain.
