Der Name "Schwarzer Mann" kommt von den Bergleuten, die im nahegelegenen Bergwerk in Bleialf, Bleierz abgebaut haben. Durch ihre Arbeit waren sie schwarz gefärbt, daher kommt der Name.
Hier in der Schneifel befindet sich eine Plattform mit der Figur "Schwarzer Mann". Der Künstler ist Konrad Scholzen aus Schalkenmehren.
The name "Schwarzer Mann" comes from the miners who mined lead ore in the nearby mine in Bleialf. Through their work they were black colored, hence the name.
