The meteorite Uden LL7 hit this area on June 12, 1840 (between Uden and Volkel). A few feet away from a group of workers, an object hit a dirt road with a loud bang and a swelling screeching sound. It threw up a cloud of dust and struck a shallow pit

About meteorites in The Netherlands:
"Six meteorites have hit the Netherlands to date. They are all rock meteorites, but their properties sometimes differ greatly. The Uden, Utrecht, Glanerbrug and Broek in Waterland can be classified as ordinary rock meteorites, while the Diepenveen and Ellemeet have very different properties."

About the location:
Currently at the location (almost 200 years later) several houses have been built on the Retraitelaan. I have added several pictures where (according to the site), the impact was and my location today.

About the meteorite:
"After detonations a small meteorite was observed to fall. A fusion crust is observed in current photographs and some shock-induced darkening is evident upon inspection. Composition of olivine (Fa30.3) and orthopyroxene (Fs23.5) indicate membership in the LL (very low bulk iron) ordinary chondrite group. The predominate olivine and orthopyroxene are accompanied by accessory Fe-Ni metal, troilite, feldspar, and clinopyroxene. Small amounts of apatite, chromite, and merrillite are also present.

Uden is one of 98 LL and L/LL ordinary chondrite falls [as of November 2015]. However, Uden is the only LL chondrite currently classified as an LL7. Petrologic type 7 meteorites have been heated to the point of local melting, but have not experienced significant chemical-mineralogical migration and differentiation."
