In september 1994 werd, na een restauratie van drie jaar, de Eusebiustoren weer in gebruik genomen. Dit moment viel samen met de herdenking van 50 jaar Slag om Arnhem. Bij deze herdenking werd een bijzondere tekst boven de deuren bij de hoofdingang van de Eusebiuskerk onthuld.

Deze, in hardsteen gebeitelde tekst, luidt: 'Voor U staat hIer eUsebIUs reChtop en fIer, Vaak besChoten en zo Lang gekWeLD gerestaUreerD en In praCht hersteLD'. Opvallend is dat er enkele letters als hoofdletter geschreven zijn en bovendien in een andere kleur. Het is niet alleen een gedicht, maar tevens een jaartal vers, een chronogram genoemd. De heer Bernard Grothues heeft dit chronogram gemaakt. Op twee manieren is het jaartal 1994 terug te vinden in de tekst, namelijk door de cijferwaarden van de letters, die in het Latijn getalwaarden hebben, bij elkaar op te tellen of door het aantal woorden - 19 - en het totaal aantal letters - 94 - te tellen. Ter verduidelijking: M = 1000, D = 500, C = 100, L = 50, X = 10, W = VV= 10, U = V = 5, Y = IJ = II = 2, J = I = 1.

In September 1994, after a three-year restoration, the Eusebius Tower was put back into use. This moment coincided with the commemoration of 50 years of the Battle of Arnhem. At this commemoration, a special text was unveiled above the doors at the main entrance of the Eusebius Church.

This text, chiseled into bluestone, reads: 'Voor U staat hIer eUsebIUs reChtop en fIer, Vaak besChoten en zo Lang gekWeLD gerestaUreerD en In praCht hersteLD' ('Before you, Eusebius stands erect and proud, frequently shelled and so long tormented, restorated and restored to its beauty'). It is striking that some letters are capitalized and also in a different color. It is not only a poem, but also a year verse, called a chronogram. Mr Bernard Grothues made this chronogram. The year 1994 can be found in the text in two ways, namely by adding the numerical values of the letters, which have number values in Latin, or by adding the number of words - 19 - and the total number of letters - 94 - to count.
