"The lead tower (or shot tower) of Brussels was built in 1898 on the site of a former gunpowder factory, which had been there since 1832. The lead tower was in use until 1962, making it the longest in use in Belgium. The lead tower was classified as a cultural heritage in 1984.

The round brick structure is 46 meters high and the diameter varies from 4.7 meters at the base to 3.1 meters at the top. The original plans show a lantern on the top and a dome with weathervane."
