The bridge was built in 1891 and replaces an earlier 1876 wooden bridge that was washed away during a flood.There are two 14.2m spans with half-through Warren trusses on cast iron cylinder piers and stone abutments. This bridge was replaced in the 1970's when the present Crystal Brook Rd bridge was opened .
