"19. Hirlinger Residence, 308 E. High Street, c. 1922. The two-story Box
style house is brick with a hip roof and has a one-story hip roofed
porch." ~ NRHP Nomination Form
"Built: 1922
Style/Design: Box
To the N is a 1 story porch with a hip roof and supported by 2 square brick columns and an open brick work balustrade. Most windows are 4-over-l, some paired or grouped, with heavy wide concrete lintels and lug sills. On the E facade is a 1 story rectangular projecting window bay; on the W is the entrance leading to the basement. A pantry, porch combination projecting bay on the 1st story, with an enclosed frame porch on the 2nd story is to the S. In 1959, the living room was expanded by removing the interior wall between this room and the entrance foyer. This is the only major alteration.
"The structure was built as a residence for Mr & Mrs. Henry Christus
on the site of the Thro Lumber Yard.
"A brick single car garage, built at the same period sits along the S alley. It has a hip roof with asphalt shingles, garage doors to the W, and a segmentally arched opening to the N. The residence faces N onto High Street." ~ Boonville Historic Survey PDF pages 1392-1395
