The fire on November 10, 1895 gave rise to the establishment of a fire brigade in Höchst. During this fire, certain incidents must have occurred that prompted the community fathers at the time to take steps to found a volunteer fire brigade - unfortunately, exact details are not available.
The fire station was extended in 2012 by a small museum building that is worth seeing.
There is a permanent exhibition of old fire trucks and clothing.
