The Marian Columns were built in Bohemia and Moravia often as commemorative columns, as a reminder of the tragic events, especially the wars and the plague epidemics.
The chronogram is located on the sandstone pedestal. The Roman numerals of chronogram are larger than the other letters and are red color-coded from the rest of the text.

The Marian Column description
Statue of the Immaculate Virgin Mary on a sphere with snake. The statue is on top of a triangular column adorned with angels and clouds. The column stands on a triangular base with inscriptions, and on the three corners statues of:
1. (right) Sv. Alžbeta Durynská and a beggar
(Bratislava 1207 - Marburg 1231), princess of the Kingdom of Hungary, Landgravine of Thuringia; built a hospital where she herself served the sick; symbol of Christian charity.
2. (left) Svatý Josef s Ježíšem
the husband of the Virgin Mary and the earthly father of Jesus Christ (in distinction to God, his "heavenly father")
3. (back) Svatý Vojtech
(c. 956 - 997), bishop of Prague and a missionary, was martyred in his efforts to convert the Baltic Prussians. Patron saint of Bohemia, Poland, Hungary and Prussia .
