El puente de Nerpio es un notable exponente de la ingeniería civil de finales del siglo XIX, que es donde hay que situarlo, ya que fue proyectado por el Ingeniero de Caminos Eladio Sala en 1899. En el proyecto se tuvieron en cuenta los recursos, tanto de materiales como de mano de obra disponibles, resultando un magnífico puente realizado íntegramente con la piedra caliza del lugar como podemos ver, sin ir mas lejos en los sillares del pretil del puente donde se pueden observar los fósiles de los animales marinos que forman la roca.
El puente tiene un arco de sillarejo, de medio punto, de 12 metros de luz con boquillas de sillería, estribos de mampostería y aristones, zócalos, etc. de sillería.
El presupuesto de las obras ascendió a 36.785,38 pesetas y la fecha de construcción no la sabemos a ciencia cierta, aunque fue a principios del siglo XX.
