The Panther Mark V tank of the 116th Panzer Division which was guarding the bridge tipped over into the Ourthe. It will remain there until the summer of 45. The panther was born in 1942 as a parade to Russian tanks T34 and KV which outclassed the Panzers Mark IV. The design of the new German tank is also inspired by characteristics of the T34. The Panther was used first during the greatest tank battle of modern times: the Battle of Kursk. The Panther outclassed all US and British tanks engaged in the Battle of the Bulge. The tank is equipped with a 75mm cannon and two machine guns.

Le char Panther Mark V de la 116ème Panzer Division qui assurait la garde du pont a basculé dans l'Ourthe. Il y restera jusqu'à l'été 45. Le panther vit le jour en 1942 comme parade aux chars russes T34 et KV qui surclassaient les Panzers Mark IV. La conception du nouveau char allemand s'inspire d'ailleurs de caractéristiques du T34. Le Panther subit le baptême du feu lors de la plus grande bataille de chars des temps modernes : la Bataille de Koursk. Le Panther surclassait tous les chars US et britanniques engagés dans la Bataille des Ardennes. Le char est équipé d'un canon de 75mm et de deux mitrailleuses.
