NL Op het centrale plein in Achterveld, naast Hotel/Restaurant De Roskam staat een mysterieuze paal. Op de paal zijn meerdere plaquettes gezet. Op de zijkant staat: “Kermisplein, 1e steen gelegd 21-02-2012, Prins Chaos”. Op de bovenkant staat: “De Paal, in 2012 door Chaos gepoot, één grote kermis. In 2018 nét een beetje Scheef geslagen door Schots. CV De Puupenkoppen.” De site van de carnavalsvereniging De Puupenkoppen geeft wat meer informatie om het mysterie op te lossen:
In 2012 was Prins Carnaval Erwin Scholtus. Hij werd Prins Chaos genoemd en het thema van het carnaval in 2012 was ‘één grote kermis’. In 2018 was Prins Carnaval John van den Hengel en zijn adjudant Dennis van Middelaar. John werd Prins Schots genoemd en Dennis Adjudant Scheef. Ze zijn naar het Nederlandse spreekwoord ‘schots en scheef’ genoemd, wat betekent dat iets wel heel erg scheef staat.

Het was waarschijnlijk een heel groot feest toen de paal werd neergezet. Ik ben al heel erg lang nop zoek naar een Grand Opening met een zeer speciaal persoon, maar specialer dan Prins Chaos ga ik denk ik niet vinden…
ENG There is a mysterious pole on the central square in Achterveld, next to Hotel/Restaurant De Roskam. Several plaques have been placed on the pole. On the side it reads: “Kermisplein, 1st stone laid 21-02-2012, Prince Chaos”. The top reads: “De Paal, planted by Chaos in 2012, one big fair. In 2018 just a bit crooked by Scottish. CV De Puupenkoppen.” The site of the carnival association De Puupenkoppen provides some more information to solve the mystery:
In 2012 Prince Carnival was Erwin Scholtus. He was called Prince Chaos and the theme of the carnival in 2012 was "one big fair". In 2018 Prince Carnival was John van den Hengel and his aide Dennis van Middelaar. John was called Prince Schots and Dennis Adjutant Scheef. They are named after the Dutch proverb 'schots en scheef', which means that something is very crooked.

It was probably a very big party when the pole was put down. I haven't been looking for a Grand Opening with a very special person for a very long time, but I don't think I will find anything more special than Prince Chaos…
