Smithsonian Art Inventory

"An angel kneeling and weeping over a tomb. The angel's forehead rests on her proper right arm, draped across the top of the tomb. Her wings spread out on either side. The angel has her hair in a bun, wears a sleeveless belted gown that covers her feet. The monument has a laurel wreath in relief on front, and a relief of a half wreath on one side. The sculpture is mounted on a rectangular two-tiered base."
