An interesting memorial to the Railway Workers who were lost during WWII is found in the main hall of Gare de l'Est.

This WWII memorial to the railway workers of Gare de l'Est is found tucked under the main stairway in the great hall where passengers embark/disembark the trains. It consists of several plaques, some mounted to the right of the memorial, some locked behind a gate. Sadly, the gate was locked when I was at the station going to Nancy. Research has found that the memorial honors the railway workers overall, specific railway workers (behind the locked gate).
