The ISS reached a maximum altitude of 49 degrees at 18:59:47 CST with an expected magnitude of -3.5 at our Site 2, in Edmond, OK. The viewing location was at a parking lot at a school along 33rd St. We had perfectly clear skies and viewed the ISS from 18:56:32 to 19:00:33 with the ISS appearing in the southwest and disappearing into earth's shadow to the west just before it reached the moon's position.
Jupiter shone brightly in the southwest and Saturn was just rising to add some sparkle to the pass. Orion was spectacular in the east where the ISS disappeared.
It was fun knowing that a friend just south of me in Norman was watching the ISS at the same time for her waymark.
At Site 1, in Abilene, TX, Love Cachers saw the ISS reach a maximum altitude of 58 degrees at 18:58:47 with a magnitude of -3.7.
The distance covered by the ISS was 293 miles from Site 1 to Site 2 (1 min. x 293 mi./min.).
