On top of the 82 m high Eltenberg stands the 1000-year-old St. Vitus Church. The church belongs to the abbey founded by Wichmann van Gent, which housed a ladies' foundation (monastery). The Drusus source, 57 meters deep and also over 1000 years old, was used for water supply. The water in the well is 21.5 meters above AP. Immediately behind the Vitus Church you will see the 50 ton granite block. That is the “SteinTor” with its 2 large wings, each 6.80 m high. Through the wings of the “SteinTor” you look across the Rhine to Kleve on the 350-year-old Baroque Gardens. Take a seat on the seat of the “Fürstäbtissinen” (abbesses) and you can quietly enjoy the view.
At the back of the St. Vitus Church there is a walking route along which this binocular is also located.
With a height of 82 meters, the hill offers a beautiful view of the surroundings.
