"Stillborn babies used to be quietly buried in unconsecrated ground.
Even today, there is still a lot of grief for children who have died who have never been given a clear burial site. This may concern full-term babies buried in unknown places, but also a miscarriage, a child that has been cremated or has been handed over to science after death.
Since 2004 there is a monument for stillborn children at Bloemendaal cemetery.
It has become a place where you can put flowers or a hug. A place to stop, pray and remember.
Every year a flower laying is organized at the monument.
This year's flower laying will take place on 21 June 2014, the reception is at 2 p.m. at Monuta Bloemendaal.
In the broadest sense, the flower laying is also for all involved / parents of all children who died prematurely, miscarriages and for the child who died at a young age."
