A life-size bronze statue of Anna Marie Luisa De' Medici depicts the Palatine Electress wearing a long dress and while seated. She is looking slightly to her right and wearing her hair in a bouffant style hair. On her left knee she is holding an open book with both hands. The statue is set on a marble plinth which is supported to a two tiered wooden platform. The front of the lower tier of the platform is inscribed:

A sign next to the statue is inscribed in both Italian and English. English version is:

Anna Marie Luisa, the Palatine Electress, is
portrayed in this bronze statue by Alfonso
Boninsegni. The 1946 model was cast in 2004 and
that same year donated to the Museum by the artist's
heirs.

Anna Maria Luisa was born August 11, 1667 to Cosimo III de' Medici, the Grand Duke of Tuscany, and Marguerite Louise d'Orléans, a niece of Louis XIII of France. Upon marrying her marriage to Holy Roman Empire Elector-Prince Johann Wilhelm II, she became Electress-Princess of the Palatinate. An Elector is one seven princes chosen to elect the next Emperor. Anna Marie Luisa De' Medici was a patron of the arts. She inherited a large collected of art owned by the de' Medici family and bequeathed this art collection to Florence institutions such as: the Uffizi Museum, the Palazzo Pitti, and various de' Medici villas.
