On top of the 82 m high Eltenberg stands the 1000-year-old St. Vitus Church. The church belongs to the abbey founded by Wichmann van Gent, which housed a ladies' foundation (monastery).
Next to the church is a small cemetery with some old graves.
There is also a large stone cross in the cemetery.

On the wall surrounding the cemetery is a sign with the name and information about the church.
There is no signage for the church or the cemetery accept for this shield on the wall (included in the gallery)
The cemetery itself contains a number of older graves and also this well-maintained grave.
This grave bears the coat of arms of Emmerich because Carl was honorary citizen, the coat of arms is partly hidden under the vegetation on the left side of the iron plate.
