An architecturally significant depot, as it reflects a rare and modest example or second generation depot buildings constructed and designed by the Southern Pacific R.R. This depot represents a simple Spanish Colonial Revival style building with Spanish Colonial features such as low elongaged massing, hipped roof with ridges tiles and a portico. It is represented in design to the late 1920's trend toward "southwestern" architecture and is similar to the Southern Pacific Depot in Mesa, Arizona, which was build during the same time period.
