A local online paper wrote the following about the butcher Geerts:

"The butcher's shop has been going for four generations. Since 2017 that is with Mieke and Thierry at the helm. Behind is Thierry's domain. Mieke is at the front of the shop. There, the brimming serving counter meanders invitingly through the space. In the refrigerator, the spotlights are shining on the meat as if it were a work of art. I do not know much about meat, but I am convinced of one thing: there is passion here.

The sparkle in Mieke and Thierry's eyes as they talk about their butcher's shop - and each other - confirms my suspicion. "The butcher's shop is a hobby that has got out of hand. I prefer to do everything myself. I always lack time. And Mieke doesn't allow me to work on Sundays - well, then we're done," smiles Thierry. "Experimenting with new products, that's what we do at the weekend. That's not really work, is it!"
