NL De ijssalon Roberto Gelato van Roberto Colletti ligt op de Poortstraat in Utrecht. De salon was gesloten toen ik er langs liep vanwege de Corona-pandemie. Normaal is hij van 12 tot 20 uur open. Roberto Gelato is vermaard om zijn vanille-ijs, dit is zelf een keer bekroond tot beste in de wereld.

De Utrechtse ijsmaker Roberto Coletti van ijssalon Roberto Gelato heeft gisteren (5 december 2018) in Italië op een belangrijke ijsbeurs de Coppa d’Oro gewonnen voor het beste vanille-roomijs. Op de oudste ijsbeurs in Italië, de MIG, eindigde Coletti in een veld van 100 deelnemers van over de hele wereld eerst bij de beste zes. Die zes ijsbereiders moesten ter plekke hun ijs nogmaals bereiden. Daarbij kwam Coletti als beste uit de bus.

Coletti valt regelmatig in de prijzen met zijn ijscreaties. Ook maakt hij regelmatig bijzondere varianten, zoals frikandel-ijs of ijs gemaakt van moedermelk. Vorig jaar bedacht Coletti weer iets nieuws: zwart ijs.

ENG Roberto Colletti's ice cream parlor Roberto Gelato is located on the Poortstraat in Utrecht. The salon was closed when I walked past it due to the Corona pandemic. It is normally open from 12 noon to 8 pm. Roberto Gelato is renowned for its vanilla ice cream, which itself has once been awarded the best in the world.

The Utrecht ice cream maker Roberto Coletti of ice cream parlor Roberto Gelato won the Coppa d'Oro for the best vanilla ice cream in Italy yesterday (5 December 2018) at an important ice cream fair. At the oldest ice fair in Italy, the MIG, Coletti finished first among the best six in a field of 100 participants from around the world. Those six ice cream makers had to prepare their ice cream again on the spot. Coletti came out on top.

Coletti regularly wins prizes for his ice cream creations. He also regularly makes special variants, such as frikandel ice cream or ice cream made from breast milk. Last year Coletti came up with something new: black ice.
