The Simeón building is a construction located at number 6 of Puerta del Sol, in Vigo (Galicia, Spain). It is currently one of the jewels of modernist architecture in this town.

"Its construction arises to house the commercial house "Viuda e Hijos de Simeón García", as well as houses on the upper floors with entrance through the side facades.
The building has three floors, of which the last one has sloping ceilings. The ground floor, dedicated to commerce, has a sumptuous and monumental character with excellent granite stonework.
The main façade presents an eclectic composition, with a French character, organized through a central body finished with a dome. The entrance to the shopping center is located in it through a beautiful arcade; It is the one with the greatest decorative profusion, especially on the bulging balconies at the top of the central body, with a stilted semicircular arch. The lateral facades also present an eclectic composition with an alternation of openings.
The decoration, made of granite, has a modernist air with a varied representation of flora and fauna. The decorative elements are located above all on the lintels, keystones, corbels, pilasters, balconies, etc. It is worth mentioning the treatment of the woman's face that appears framed in vegetal decoration, in the key of the lower central opening; the top of the pilasters, in which doves and plant forms appear; and the gargoyles of monstrous forms.
Finally, it is also worth noting the use of iron with curvilinear shapes, especially on the balconies that remind us of the Art Nouveau style."
