En effet, la commune de Corbara, en collaboration avec les services de la Direction régionale des affaires culturelles (Drac), a décidé d'entreprendre divers travaux de restauration, en se concentrant plus particulièrement sur le choeur de l'église collégiale. Une rénovation partielle du toit en lauzes vient compléter cette restauration.
Des travaux déclinés en deux tranches
C'est Sébastien Céléri, architecte spécialisé du patrimoine, qui a en charge le suivi des travaux après avoir réalisé une mission de diagnostic et une estimation financière.
Le monument étant classé, la commune bénéficie d'une subvention de 70% de la part de la CdC pour le montant de la maîtrise d'oeuvre et des travaux réalisés. D'autre part, la commune a reçu une aide financière de 10 000 euros de la part de la Fondation pour les monuments historiques, mécène sur cette opération.
Depuis plusieurs années, l'église de Corbara ne cesse d'être embellie. Lors du précédent mandat de Paul Lions, maire actuel, c'est l'orgue de l'église qui a été entièrement restauré (instrument, buffet et tribune), en 2011, pour un montant de 132 000 euros et, quelques années auparavant, la commune avait mis l'accent sur une rénovation des façades et du clocher du bâtiment.
Soucieuse de son patrimoine religieux remarquable, Corbara continue sa démarche de sauvegarde de ce vecteur culturel et touristique. Grâce au musée du Trésor, propriété de la municipalité attenante à l'église, l'Anunziata accueille, lors de la visite guidée (musée et église) proposée par le service culturel de la municipalité, plus de 1500 visiteurs par saison estivale. Des concerts de chants polyphoniques y sont organisés l'été et les offices célébrés attirent toujours les fidèles.
268 000 € de travaux pour la 1re tranche
C'est au choeur de l'église de style baroque que se concentrent les travaux de cette première tranche. En effet, il a fallu restaurer dans un premier temps les stalles en bois se trouvant derrière le maître-autel qui étaient en très mauvais état. Cet ouvrage reste pour la commune le témoignage des sièges des chanoines présents au 18e siècle et dont le pape Benoit XIV a érigé l'église au rang de collégiale. Ce travail de menuiserie a été complété par une restauration de certaines ouvertures.
Quelques travaux de maçonnerie ont été réalisés notamment sur les chapelles latérales ainsi qu'une rénovation partielle de la couverture de l'église. Aujourd'hui, il ne reste plus qu'une intervention sur les marbres de la table de communion et des autels latéraux pour finaliser cette première tranche de travaux. La réouverture de l'église est prévue au mois d'avril 2020 pour la saison estivale.
Une deuxième phase de travaux devrait suivre, estimée à 299 000 euros. Cette deuxième phase a été étudiée par l'architecte du patrimoine pour rendre à l'église confort et valorisation. Un programme de travaux qui devrait porter sur l'électricité et la sonorisation de l'édifice, la mise en valeur des décors peints et encore divers travaux intérieurs de maçonnerie. Après de tels investissements, l'église collégiale d'Anonziata sera à nouveau prête à traverser les siècles.

It is in the choir of the baroque style church that the work of this first phase is concentrated. First, the wooden stalls behind the high altar had to be restored, as they were in very poor condition. This work remains for the commune the testimony of the seats of the canons present in the 18th century and whose Pope Benedict XIV erected the church to the rank of collegiate. This carpentry work was completed by a restoration of some openings.
Some masonry work was carried out, notably on the side chapels, as well as a partial renovation of the church's roof. Today, all that remains is an intervention on the marble of the communion table and the side altars to finalize this first stage of work. The reopening of the church is planned for April 2020 for the summer season.
A second phase of work should follow, estimated at 299 000 euros. This second phase has been studied by the heritage architect to give the church comfort and value. The work program should include the electricity and the sound system of the building, the enhancement of the painted decorations and various interior masonry works. After such investments, the collegiate church of Anonziata will be ready again to cross the centuries.
