Fort Supply Cemetery was used to inter soldiers and veterans from 1873 to 1895. When the fort was closed, the soldier's bodies were moved to Leavenworth, Kansas, but many civilians related to the military (such as Indian scouts) remained. The cemetery was used for a time by "squatters" and then passed to the State of Oklahoma, who used it to inter those who passed away while confined to the mental hospital nearby. The last burial here was in 1982.
