The Kaiser family, immigrants from Switzerland who started selling family recipes of homemade ice cream out of a three-quart freezer in 1910, opened their business here in 1919. The Kaiser family ran the ice cream parlor until the 1970s, when they sold it to Larry Burke. It is still "Kaiser's Grateful Bean Café and Ice Cream Stand." The photos show how the building appeared in the 1940s (exact date unknown) and today. Look at how the background has grown!
