The most northwestern point of the Zecher Werder peninsula in the Schaalsee has long been known as "Teufelsbrücke" or "Devil's Bridge".
The devilish place in a quite heavenly place, you have a great view over the lake from here, is located on a glacial hill and can be recognized by a simple wooden sign with inscription. A simple wooden bench invites you to linger.
Since there is no further information about this legendary place on site, many visitors will unsuspectingly continue on their way without learning the background of this place.

It reads as follows:
At that time, when Christianity invaded these regions, a pagan prince lived in Dargau, who persecuted the Christians fiercely and plagued them with robberies. But often the lake was in his way, because he was forced to take long detours to get to the pilgrims and travelers who were going on pilgrimage to the chapels of Klein-Zecher and Marienstede and to the Zarrentin monastery. He therefore made a covenant with the devil, and promised him body and soul if he could build him a stone bridge over the lake by the next cockcrow. As soon as it was evening, the devil set to work. He had a large leather sack hanging down in front of his chest, with which he now drove around in the field and put a huge stone into it here and there. When he had filled the sack, he jumped with one leap to the far bank, to the mountain where the construction was to begin, and there he threw down the stones. Then he jumped back again to fill the sack once more. It was already midnight, but just as he was about to throw down another load, a rooster crowed in the nearby village. Enraged, he threw the stones on the shore, jumped in one bound[291] over to Seedorf, seized the rooster and threw him against a stone block so that the blood splattered here and there. One can still see the dark red stain on a stone to this day.
