In the valley Mühlental near Mechernich there is a unique work of art in the middle of a roundabout. In 2005 the Erftstadt artist Jan Schlesinger created this seven meter high art installation.

The central element of the work of art is an original mine railway consisting of a locomotive and a tipping wagon. Both were used in the nearby clay and kaolin mines in Satzvey. The train is mounted on a concrete arch high above the ground and appears to climb the arch almost vertically.

The work of art is intended to commemorate Mechernich's 2000-year history of mining. The concrete arch symbolizes the tip of a miner's pickaxe and points in the direction of the Mechernich Mining Museum. The museum donated the train for the installation and is therefore listed on the wagon. The hole in the arch is supposed to remind of a mine tunnel.
