O'Leary was the head football coach of the UCF Knights (known for part of his tenure as the Golden Knights) from 2004 through 2015. During his tenure, he led UCF to 6 divisional titles, 4 conference titles, and 7 bowl games. Most notably, he led UCF to the 2014 Fiesta Bowl, where the Knights upset the Baylor Bears 52-42.
