This area was recently created, and on the shutters of the garages they put various murals of many themes so that the place would have "another air". There are writers, things from Galicia, etc.
The illustrious Galician writer Vicente Risco is drawn on the door of this garage.
With his costume of the time (1900), with a hat and glasses, all black, on a pink background and with phrases from the author.
Drawn by Abram.
"The Galician writer Vicente Martínez Risco y Agüero, better known as Vicente Risco , was born in the city of Ourense in 1884 and since he was a child he befriended another famous writer such as Otero Pedrayo, of whom he was also a neighbor.
His university studies were carried out in Santiago de Compostela , at whose university he obtained a law degree. Later he worked in Ourense as a civil servant and resumed his studies, but this time in Madrid to learn Teaching. Back in Ourense he was a History teacher.
A member of the Irmandades da Fala , he founded the magazine Nós years later and published the Teoría do nacionalismo galego. He also traveled through central Europe to study the ethnographic and cultural characteristics of some of his peoples, something that he first published as a serial in his own magazine and later collected in a work called «Mitteleuropa».
Vicente Risco, who did not always have a “Galeguista” mentality, did go on to found, together with his friend and colleague Otero Pedrayo , the Republican Nationalist Party that he ended up abandoning when he approached more leftist postulates to found a new party called Dereita Galeguista.
Risco, who did a lot for Galician culture despite the fact that his convictions regarding the issue of nationalism were always changing, finally died in 1963 ."
