The large sign has a couple of different objectives. One educational point is encouraging visitors to the beach and potential nesting area to avoid disturbing the birds or taking their natural food. Many of the migratory birds that nest here travel up to 25,000 km each year from their Arctic breeding grounds.

* Amazing Fact: 'a Ruddy Turnstone was tracked on a round trip covering 27,000 km in 8 months! This included an 11,200 km flight from Alaska to Australia, stopping only once at the Gilbert Islands!'

Another part of the Fauna display board is depicting the Local Shorebirds, and the Visiting Shorebirds. Nicely done.

* Fun Fact: There is Shorebird themed geocache just down the track - by guess who?!?
