The double dry slope is gradually being completed in Kattevennen, the first of Sport Vlaanderen, the second in Europe, the fifth in the world.

Ooit kon je slalomskiën op de borstelbaan van Kattevennen. Sinds kort verrijst er op dezelfde site een state-of-the-art-dryslope voor freestyle snowboarders en skiërs met een grote en een medium jump. Topsporters zullen hier volop kunnen trainen voor de Olympische Winterspelen en jonge talenten zullen er zich kunnen voorbereiden voor de toekomst. Maar geen topsport zonder breedtesport en daarom zullen we stap voor stap een waaier aan lessen, sportkampen en vrije trainingen inrichten.
Dankzij de samenwerking met de stad Genk wordt de toren van de hoofdschans toegankelijk voor het brede publiek. Via een zogenaamde 'bliksemtrap' kan je tot het hoogste puntje van het bouwwerk. Een uitdaging voor mensen met een mindere conditie maar de beloning met een zicht over het hele Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen is niet te missen! Opening wordt voorzien in september als de bouwwerken volgens plan kunnen verlopen.
2 jumps
De grote jump - (16 meter)
De grote schans is ongeveer 35 meter hoog, 46 meter lang en heeft een hellingsgraad van 30°. Onderaan de run in ligt een verstelbare jump (16m) die toelaat elke ‘big air jump’ in de wereld na te bootsen. Landen gebeurt op een Progression Airbag van 1160 m2.
Deze grote jump is voorlopig enkel toegankelijk voor topsporters van Sneeuwsport Vlaanderen.
De medium jump - (8 meter)
The medium jump (8 m) has been in use since May 2019. This run is 20 metres tall, 40 metres long and 7 metres wide. Here again, the landing is made on an airbag. This means the jump is also perfectly accessible for recreational snowboarders. Needless to say, the necessary experience in skiing of snowboarding is essential!

You could once go slalom skiing on the Kattevennen brush track. A state-of-the-art dry slope for freestyle snowboarders and skiers with a large and a medium jump has recently been built on the same site. Top athletes will be able to fully train for the Winter Olympics here and young talents will be able to prepare for the future. But no top sport without recreational sport and that is why we will set up a range of lessons, sports camps and free training sessions step by step.
Thanks to the collaboration with the city of Genk, the tower of the main redoubt is accessible to the general public. Via a so-called 'lightning staircase' you can reach the highest point of the building. A challenge for people with a lesser condition, but the reward with a view over the entire Hoge Kempen National Park is not to be missed! Opening is planned for September if construction works can go according to plan.
2 jumps
The Big Jump - (16 meters)
The large ramp is about 35 meters high, 46 meters long and has a slope of 30°. At the bottom of the run is an adjustable jump (16m) that allows to imitate every 'big air jump' in the world. Landing is done on a Progression Airbag of 1160 m2.
For the time being, this big jump is only accessible to top athletes from Snow Sports Flanders.
