Sanquin Bloedvoorziening (spreek uit als sankwien) is de Nederlandse non-profitorganisatie die is belast met het voorzien in de behoefte van de gezondheidszorg aan bloed en korthoudbare bloedproducten. Dit is vastgelegd in de Wet inzake Bloedvoorziening (Wibv). Verder bevordert Sanquin de transfusiegeneeskunde, verricht wetenschappelijk onderzoek, verzorgt onderwijs en levert andere producten en diensten. Sanquin is in 1998 ontstaan uit een fusie van de Nederlandse bloedbanken en het Centraal laboratorium van de bloedtransfusiedienst van het Nederlandse Rode Kruis (CLB).
Sanquin verkrijgt dit bloed door middel van vrijwillige donatie.
Onder bloedproducten vallen niet de medicijnen die uit bloedplasma worden geproduceerd (zogenaamde langhoudbare bloedproducten). Sanquin streeft er naar ook hiermee de gehele Nederlandse markt te bedienen, ze dient daarbij echter te concurreren met andere partijen die ook uit bloed geproduceerde medicijnen op de Nederlandse markt mogen aanbieden

Sanquin Blood Supply (pronounced sankwien) is the Dutch non-profit organisation that is responsible for meeting healthcare needs for blood and short shelf-life blood products. This is laid down in the Blood Supply Act (Wibv). Sanquin also promotes transfusion medicine, conducts scientific research, provides education and supplies other products and services. Sanquin was created in 1998 through a merger of the Dutch blood banks and the Central Laboratory of the Blood Transfusion Service of the Netherlands Red Cross (CLB).
Sanquin obtains blood by means of voluntary donation.
Blood products do not include medications that are produced from blood plasma (so-called long-lasting blood products). Sanquin's aim is to serve the entire Dutch market with these products, but in doing so it must compete with other parties who are also permitted to offer medications produced from blood on the Dutch market.
