This small wooden door in the wall of the north transept of St Winifred's church, Branscombe, opens to a niche (or aumbrey) near he pulpit. It is dedicated to benefactor to the church, Richard Bartlett Dean (1863 - 1925). It is inscribed -

It is has 2 carved panels, depicting scenes from the bible.
- The Temptation of Eve. Adam and Eve are standing by the Tree of Knowledge, Eve is taking the Forbidden Fruit from the Serpent.
- Shepherds visit the Infant. The infant Jesus in a manger with Mary and two lowly shepherds. Two animals look on. [This could also be interpreted as the The Adoration of the Magi]
