The Paul Cain House was built in 1802. This house is somewhat different than the rest of the homes on Church St in that it is of brick construction on the gable end facing the street. The rest of the house has clapboard siding. It is possible the brick facing was added after the original construction date. There is another Paul Cain listed home right next door at 20 Church Street.
