A nearby sign tells the story of the boat and two carved sailors inside it.
THE REPUS
THE REPUS IS A TRADITIONAL FISHING COBLE
THAT WAS FOUND IN BAD REPAIR AT THE SOUTH GARE
SINCE BRINGING THE BOAT TO THE GROVE IT WAS
DISCOVERED THAT SHE HAD ONCE BELONGED TO A
SKINNINGROVE FISHERMAN WHO HAD DIED IN THE 80'S
WE DECIDED TO REPAIR 'THE REPUS' AND PUT TWO
CARVED FIGURES IN HER AS A FITTING MEMORIAL
TO ALL THOSE LOST AT SEA OFF THE GROVE
