Unfortunately, neither Findagrave nor FamilySearch are forthcoming as far as details on Mr. Nolte's life and career. In the photo medallion on Mr. Nolte's side of the headstone he shares with his wife, Carole (apparently still with us at the time of posting), he is wearing the uniform of a commercial pilot, and above is "Gone Flying". He may have flown as a hobby as well, although the RV pulling a truck on the reverse suggests that traveling was done on the ground come vacation time. The airliner flies above a mountain scene with a evergreens and a soaring bald eagle, with the family name "Nolte" up high.

On the front, flowers decorate the upper corners, with the family name at center. A wedding photo medallion of the couple is below Mrs. Nolte's name, "Carole L. Dixon", with birthdate of July 6. 1934 off to one side. Scanning to the right are wedding rings with a ribbon bearing their wedding anniversary of Sept. 30, 1954, followed by Mr. Nolte's photo medallion and his dates, Sept. 22, 1930 and Jan. 11, 1996. At the bottom of the headstone he is noted as "1st Marshal of Trophy Club 1985-1989". Presumably, this means "fire marshal."
