The library is located on RT 97, just off US44 in Pomfret CT. Usually the trips are targeted but I just happened upon the library. The library was built in 1833 and is the oldest active Ladies' Library in the United States. Abington is a village of Pomfret. Promfret has an population of around 4300, and is an affluent town as well.
