There is a nice parking lot for Historic Fort Martin Scott so it is safe to pull off and take a picture of this nice sign.
Fredericksburg was settled by Germans. "Willkommen" is German that translates into English as "Welcome".
Across the bottom is relief art. At the center of the art is the "Vereins Kirche" which was a small church and it at the center of a park in downtown. There are large deer on either side of the church. Beyond the deer are just decorations.
On the backside of the Welcome there is an "Auf Wiedersehen" which translates into "See you later".
